John has been with Elkin Injury Law since 2016. He has over a decade of experience working in personal injury and insurance law. John works to simplify complex legal matters for his clients so that they can feel comfortable in often overwhelming insurance law claims. John takes pride in strongly advocating for clients and will help clients make informed, practical decisions about their claim.
John graduated Cum Laude from University of Ottawa law school. He completed a specialized program in written advocacy and legal writing. John was a writing leader and helped new law students develop legal writing skills. John was regularly on the Dean’s list at law school and received a scholarship for the encouragement of entrepreneurial excellence.
Before law school John was a licensed paralegal. He graduated with Honours from Seneca College and was admitted to Brock University. John graduated First-Class Honours from Brock University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. John was completing his Master’s Degree and was offered an entrance scholarship to an MBA program when he decided to attend law school.
John has taught civil litigation courses as a part-time professor at Niagara College. He is also on the board of a local not-for-profit which facilitates skill development in young people while connecting them with local businesses. John worked for a local family business while he was completing school and working for Elkin Injury Law.
John was born and raised in Niagara. John likes to share meals with his wife, family, and friends at great local restaurants. John also spends a lot of time learning new skills. He is an avid sports fan but don’t hold it against him that he cheers for the Leafs and the Bills, neither of which have won a championship in his lifetime – but next year is definitely their year.
